Chairmans Report 2005
Who would have thought three short years ago when the North Devon and Exmoor Regeneration Company was launched, that in mid 2005 it would be instrumental in one capacity or another for programmes the value of which amounts to £20M or thereabouts? That figure could quite possibly double in the next year.
Then we were all concerned that we should not be regarded as a predator on the patch but as a facilitator and helper for any funded programmes which didnt quite have the legs without some sort of help which we could give to assist in making them happen in our area. When asked what is the RegCo all about we would say that it will do anything it can to assist project writing, bids, project management or accountable body for viable projects taking, of course, a proper fee for this service to ensure that the RegCo remains self sustaining.
It was a service ethos which needed to prove its track record but I think now that has manifestly been done. On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to thank every person in our family of workers both at Caddsdown and in our outposts for their hard work professionalism and dedication and for proving once again that teamwork and co-location brings results that far exceed sum of the constituent parts.
To the Board of Directors similarly can I say thank you for your wisdom and support. The RegCo started as a big idea and not without risk but your governance skills have been crucial in keeping us on track. As we now look forward to further developments in delivering economic regeneration on the patch the RegCo model which you all helped fashion will serve as a good model for our Region
