By the end of our second full year of operation The Regeneration Company has certainly in my view established its position as a powerful delivery agency on the wider North Devon patch.
Our objectives in plain language have been to try and help economic and social regeneration wherever and however we can in our Region. As a result we can now say that we have been instrumental in making happen or helping many projects in the area whether it be by offering to be the Accountable Body, providing service office accommodation (co-location) for project managers or bid writing or project support.
The example we have set in the South West is now being followed and copied but we cannot be complacent. Whilst the Leader+ programme is providing the benchmark for others’ performance in our Region our Objective 2 activity, although busy, still lacks a couple of quality flagship projects on the starting blocks which will provide the step change that we want out of this programme.
My thanks go out to all those members of the team who have worked so hard this year to make it the success it has been. It is quite humbling to watch how selflessly all staff and project personnel have contributed to make a difference in the area.
Thanks also to the Board of Directors who carry substantial responsibilities in governing the Company; your contribution is invaluable.
