Chairman's report AGM 2003
As we approach our first Annual General Meeting, I can say that the North Devon & Exmoor Regeneration Company is bedding down successfully. We now "house" 22 people, managing budgets of £1.6m per annum, all working for the social or economic regeneration of parts of Northern Devon and Exmoor. Our own in house staff has grown to four, with the arrival a couple of months ago of Dr Jon Vernon our Bid Writer (Objective 2).
The Officers Working Group meets regularly every two months ensuring that as many linkages are in place as possible, bringing together all the programmes and projects on our patch.
We still have much to do, both in ensuring our role is understood and also in delivering our mission. But we have made a modest, sound start. The Rural Issues Away Day and the Economic Partnership's brainstorming, both helped us enormously in finding our feet, our niche and spreading the word.
